this ancient raja maha viharaya dates back to the days of kings "Walagambha" Siththamgallena raja maha viharay is located at the rammalakanda range and beautiful temple.this temple is an ancient cave temple.It was a cave pointed by king Walagambha at the time and hence the name "siththamgallena".

It is an ancient site with two cave houses with 18 buddha statues,a dewalaya dedicated to king rajjuru bandara,a stup on top of a rock and several other elements. Also an anual procession is held here to pay homege to king rajjuru bandara and it has now become a national festival.this temple is now a popalar place and this perahara festival is held for seven day in a festival manner. 🙏❤️
